MISSION
Heart. Mind. Gut.

New normal.

Never normal.

We’re never normal. And we like it that way.

The first few months of 2020 have been nothing short of bizarre. We’re all WFH, surrounded by adopted office plants, and missing the way a certain Account Strategist used to fire up the first pot of communal coffee every morning. But with our routines uprooted, our basic mechanics have come into focus. We’ve gotten an enlightening reminder: our ability to adapt (and thrive) as a team is our most valuable asset. It’s resilience, and although we often forget about this cornerstone of creative survival, it’s nothing new for Mission.

As creators and strategists, we’re well-acclimated to fluctuations, uncertainty (2020 buzzword!), and chaos. Although it keeps our Project Management team on their toes, we embrace impermanence—now, then, and always—because change means new challenges, new partnerships, and new ideas. Adapting means learning, and our willingness to learn is our greatest strength (it keeps us humble too). Paradigm shifts are paramount to our creativity.

While the world scrambles to define a new normal, we’re celebrating our fluidity, our resilience, and our relationships. We’ve been strategizing with our partners, exploring new angles, and discovering better ways to help. For us, there is no normal. We’re never normal. And we like it that way.

Johns Hopkins University

Open House at Your House Campaign

For many, the abrupt switch to video chats and remote work, precipitated by the worldwide pandemic, has been relatively seamless. For institutions that rely on large, in-person events to generate revenue or drive admissions, it’s been daunting to adapt to the increased physical distance. We were excited to tackle such a pertinent challenge with Johns Hopkins University and offered our partnership, problem-solving, and just the right amount of light-hearted humor.

Learning Together, Even When We’re Far Apart Video

We needed to quickly help our friends at The GreenMount School communicate to parents, students and teachers during the early days of quarantine. Keeping it simple was the key – a reminder to a loving and cooperative community what’s really important.

The Maryland Zoo

We Miss You Campaign

There is no playbook for Coronavirus, no back pocket strategy to implement as a bandaid, but maintaining as much normalcy and revenue as possible is critical to survival. We teamed up with The Maryland Zoo to tackle this problem with understanding and efficiency. While the Zoo is closed, life behind on the grounds must go on. This includes intensive animal care and a strong commitment to conservation that the Zoo has always made a priority.

We Move As One Awareness Campaign

More than forty years after its inception, USA Synchronized Swimming, or USA Synchro, became USA Artistic Swimming. Inspired by the opportunity to showcase the strength and athleticism of the Team USA athletes, Mission created the “We Move As One” campaign.
